Code it. Build it. Fly it.
Students choose from STEAM electives designed around the industries shaping tomorrow's careers. Each one is a real course sequence with labs, builds, competitions, and a portfolio at the end, not a club.
The electives
Five courses, each with its own page: what students learn, what the classroom looks like, and where it can lead.
Robotics Technologies
Design it, build it, code it, make it move. Engineering, coding, electronics, and AI through real-world challenges.
Three-course sequenceAerospace Technologies
The science behind flight and space exploration: rockets, flight simulators, drones, and engineering teams.
Required electiveArtificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Past the hype to how modern AI systems learn, think, and create, with ethics built in.
Arts and designArt
Drawing, painting, and mixed media, with weekly artist studies and studio critique.
Yearlong courseCreative Photography
The camera in your pocket as a creative tool: composition, light, editing, and a curated portfolio.
Beyond the classroomInternships and Externships
Guest speakers and site tours first, then hands-on placements with employers near the campus.
STEAM is how the school is built.
Subjects connect: a robotics build puts physics and algebra to work, a flight simulation uses geometry and weather science, and a design brief asks students to research, sketch, prototype, present, and revise. The labs, studios, and fab lab inside DCOTA are where that happens.
The labs and studios on campus- A reason to care about the math and science behind real things
- Hands-on confidence with design, coding, and building tools
- The habit of testing an idea, getting feedback, and improving it
- A portfolio of work to show colleges and employers
